Matous HOLÝ, the Czech artist author of the ORGANIC line, gratuated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design of Prague, and then focused on his own work. Living soil is the material that he used for a long time, and that he really never stopped to develop. His art grasped different hints from Surrealism, to develop a personal expressive language characterised by a strong symbolism. The handling of different materials, contemporary and traditional, is without any doubt one of the distinctive features of his works, which challenge intricate manufatures and go beyond the mainstream design. Matouš Holý’s unique sculptures document his artistic development, while his photografs show his invention, enthusiasm and skill. Some of his main creations are Villa Skoda’s facade and the decorated portico at Prague Embassy. He also created the illumination design for important European hotels and restaurants franchises. He designed the scenes for several sci-fi, fantasy and thriller Czech and foreign movies. Matouš Holý works mostly on his own, for himself and for a circle of enthusiastic collectors. Nevertheless his works reached the general public thanks to the exhibitions MUNICH 2004 and Ceský Brod 2008, which won him loyal fans from all over the world.
